An adolescent was rushed to the hospital in a serious state after he was shot in Botanica district of Chisinau this morning. Shortly after the gunfire, the police arrested a suspect aged 32, IPN reports.
The Chisinau Police Division said the shooting occurred at about 4am on a street in Botanica. A teenage boy aged 17 suffered a gun wound. He was taken to the hospital by an ambulance. The suspect was arrested, while the gun he held legally was confiscated. The man is investigated for murder attempt.
The police didn’t confirm that the suspect is the brother of the head of the Ștefan Vodă Prosecutor’s Office as the press reported, arguing such data cannot be revealed.
Contacted by IPN for details, spokeswoman for the Emergency Medicine Institute Dorina Arsene said the boy was brought with wound in the neck. He is in a serious, but stable state.
