A working group whose composition was approved in the November 3 meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council is to work out the requirements for implementing the electronic taxation system in public transport by December 15. The requirements will be later proposed for public debates on www.chisinau.md, IPN reports.
The working group consists of: Valeriu Bogdan, head of the City Hall’s Legal Assistance Division; Vitalei Butucel, deputy head of the General Public Transport and Communications Division; Ion Popovschi, Liberal councilor; Nikita Turcan, Socialist councilor; Ivan Sarbu, representative of the Communist group; Veaceslav Bulat, councilor of the European People’s Party of Moldova; Ion Stefanita, unaffiliated councilor; Lilian Copaci, division head at the General Public Transport and Communications Division; Marcel Lupanciuc, of the Urban Bus Company; Andrei Postica, of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company, and Victor Ceban, of the Transport Department of the Technical University of Moldova.
In 2010, the Chisinau City Hall announced that the inhabitants of the capital city will not have to buy tickets from conductors as they will pay for trips by an electronic card in 2012 at the latest. Five years have passed, but the electronic taxation system in the public transport in Chisinau hasn’t been yet introduced.
