The salaries of teachers and scientific-teaching personnel of budget-funded education institutions will be raised by 8% as of September 1 this year, IPN reports, with reference to a Government decision.
Thus, the salary of a rector will increase to 6,460 lei, while of a teacher to 4,840 lei. The pay of university professors will rise by 325 lei, while of lecturers by about 300 lei.
University assistants and trainers of higher education establishments will also get higher pays, as will the employees of general and vocational education institutions.
A sum of 130 million lei was earmarked in the state budget for these pay raises.
The salaries of teachers and scientific-teaching personnel are annually indexed on September 1 in line with the forecast rise in the average official salary, compared with the average salary of teachers in the last quarter of the previous year. In the fourth quarter of 2017, the average salary was 5,722 de lei, while the average monthly official salary forecast for this year is 6,180 lei. So, the rise will be of 8%.
