The participants in the fifth municipal contest “Teacher of the Year 2009” have been awarded. Thirteen teachers, including educators and professors, were offered diplomas and money awards. Thirteen teachers competed in the final of the municipal contest “Teacher of the Year” held during March 25 – April 8. The final had three stages: preschool, primary and secondary education. The Top Prize at the preschool stage, which consisted of a merit diploma, nominal medal, a trophy and 10,000 lei, went to Svetlana Bubuioc, educator at the kindergarten-school No. 199. “I wish all my colleagues to be conquerors in their fields, famous through their deeds, kindhearted and sincere like the kids,” the awarded educator said. Maria Olievschi, of the kindergarten-school No. 152, won the Top Prize at the primary stage. “The children are our greatest treasure. For them we work and are appreciated,” she said. The teacher of the theoretical high school “N. Iorga” Liliana Vantu-Palamari was also awarded a Top Prize. “If the teachers do what they do with love, their work always produces results. I’m a teacher that shares optimism and I thank God for this every day,” she said. Another ten teachers received merit diplomas and money awards. This year, the contest included a new nomination titled “professional perseverance and ingeniously”. Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, the head of the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, has told Info-Prim Neo that the teachers improve their work every year. “This prestigious contest exists owing to our joint insistence. The municipality of Chisinau is proud of its teachers. We wish them great accomplishments and esteem,” she said. The award ceremony was held at Organ Hall in Chisinau.
