Two teachers, one from Chisinau and another one from Cahul, are suspected of taking bribe to favor students taking graduation exams, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime (CCCEC). In the first case, a teacher of the Chisinau evening school No. 3 asked 600 lei from the parent of a ninth grader to help him get a good mark in the graduation exam. The woman was caught in the act of taking the money marked “CCCEC bribe”. She is liable to fine of 20,000 to 60,000 lei or 2 to 6 years in jail. In the second case, a teacher of the Cahul-based College of Medicine is suspected of taking by €50 from 18 students to help them successfully pass the state exam in pediatrics. The police officers found €390, US$60 and 800 lei in her purse and a notebook with the initials of students and different sums of money in front of them at her home. The teacher is held at the remand center in Cahul and is investigated for passive corruption. She faces 5 to 10 years in jail and fine of 20,000 to 60,000 lei.
