The Balti Appeals Court convicted a teacher from Telenesti district of inhuman treatment of a student during physical education lessons. As a result, the student suffered a concussion, IPN has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office of Telenesti, the physical education teacher in May 2016 asked a fifth grader to bring him the ball. The boy refused and the teacher hit him with a plastic stick. In a week, in similar circumstances, the teacher hit the student against a chair. The latter ultimately hit his head against the radiator.
In November 2016, the culprit was convicted by the Telenesti Court, but the prosecutors appealed the part of the sentence concerning the additional punishment. Thus, the Balti Appeals Court gave the culprit two years’ probation and banned him from teaching for two years. The teacher was also obliged to pay 15,000 lei damages to the injured party.
The decision can be appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice.
