Taxi explodes in central Chisinau

A taxicab has blown up this morning in the center of Chisinau. The driver was rushed to the hospital with first-, second- and third-degree burns.
Adrian Jovmir, spokesman for the General Police Commissariat, has told Info-Prim Neo that the explosion took place at the intersection of the streets Ismail and Albisoara, near the bridge. The blast was allegedly caused by the gas installation of the car.
There was only the driver in the car when the blast occurred. He was admitted to the hospital. No other persons were hurt.
