The Social Democratic Party (PSD) condemns the taxation plans announced by the governing Alliance for European Integration as they will definitively impoverish the farmers. According to the PSD, the Government is nonprofessional and the people suffer the consequences, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a statement from the party.
The PSD's statement comes after Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta announced that the farmland will be taxed according to its market value from 2011, while the residential buildings in rural areas – from 2012.
“It is evident that the land owners, citizens who work abroad, the people who remained without workplaces in rural areas, the elderly persons, pensioners and invalids, the war and work veterans became for the Government the main sources from where to collect money into the state budget. Realizing that it will not be able to obtain economic growth the next two years, the Alliance is ready to increase the taxes on rural houses from this year,” the PSD says.
The party highlights that the people in rural areas built spacious houses and will thus have to pay high taxes. “The PSD demands that the present administration abandon its plans that will lead to the impoverishment of the country people, and seriously focus on economic recovery and creation of well-paid jobs,” the statement says.
