Tax Inspectorate head invited to National Anticorruption Center

The head of the State Main Tax Inspectorate Nicolae Vicol was escorted to the National Anticorruption Center. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the Center’s adviser on communication Angela Starinski said that Nicolae Vicol wasn’t arrested. He was invited to the Center to be informed that he will be investigated as a suspect. The National Anticorruption Center, in concert with prosecutors, carried out a number of inspections, including at the Main State Tax Inspectorate, in the morning of February 15. The checks were performed as part of the investigations over criminal cases started against high-ranking officials for abuse of power and acts of corruption. The Center announced a press briefing for 2pm.
