The landscape architectural monument “The Park of Taul Village” was transferred under the management of the local mayor’s office. A bill to this effect was passed by Parliament. The park will be renovated at a cost of 23 million lei through the National Regional Development Fund and with financial support from the Donduseni District Council.

Accountant of the mayor’s office Nicolina Caldare has told IPN that the local authorities intended to take over the park long ago as it is in a deplorable state. 1 million lei will be provided by the District Council, while the rest will be allocated from the National Regional Development Fund.

The historical architectural monument is 46 hectares in area. The mansion of Andrei Pommer and other dozens of constructions situated in the park were erected at the start of the 19th century. The park was founded in 1901 – 1904 by the owner of the land Andrei Iacob Pommer, who is native of Greece. There are over 150 species of trees, bushes and creepers in the park, two thirds of which are exotic.
