Tatiana Shevchuk was appointed president of the Court of Auditors. A decision to this effect was adopted by Parliament on Thursday. The new head of the Court of Auditors took the oath of office in the Parliament’s plenary sitting, IPN reports.
Tatiana Shevchuk was selected at the competition organized by the parliamentary commission for public finance control. She holds a PhD in economics. In 2022, she was named a Court of Auditors member by Parliament.
Under the legislation, the president of the Court of Audit is appointed by the Parliament for a five-year term, with a majority of votes of MP.
Over the past five years, the institution had been led by former Parliament Speaker, ex-democratic MP Marian Lupu.
