A number of supporters of the Shor Party in the morning of July 23 mounted a protest in front of the Chisinau City Hall where Andrei Nastase, whose election as mayor of Chisinau wasn’t validated, was holding a news conference centering on the “real estate mafia of Chisinau”. Nastase had to withdraw, IPN reports.
The protesters chanted “Down with Nastase!”, “Don’t touch the social stores!” “Ilan Shor, hurrah!”.
Later, live streaming on Facebook from the head office of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”, Andrei Nastase continued the news conference. He said it is not clear why the supporters of Ilan Shor came to obstruct his approach that is against Vlad Plahotniuc and for the citizens’ benefit.
“They came to talk further about our alleged intention to close their social stores. Why did they decide to invent this subject? Plahotniuc has the criminal intention of clashing the people between them and invents all kinds of subjects. The PPPDA and our colleagues from the PAS, as far as I know, do not intend to close the social stores and we cannot do it as we are not in power. They should understand that they are manipulated,” stated Andrei Nastase.
The protesters continued the protest at the head office of the Party “Action and Solidarity”, where they chanted the same slogans for several minutes. They demanded that the PAS leader Maia Sandu should come out and explain why she wants the social stores to be closed. Maia Sandu made no comments so far.
