Sympathizers of the Shor Party led by the party’s chairman Ilan Shor on January 9 picketed the building of the Central Election Commission. In the meeting held today, the Commission repeatedly examined the application to register the party’s candidates for MP in the national constituency, IPN reports.
The supporters came together when the meeting started and blocked traffic on Vasile Alecsandri St near the building of the Central Election Commission. They chanted “Victory!” and demanded that the Commission should register the Shor Party.
Ilan Shor was among the sympathizers. He said it is a historic moment when the life of the people and the situation in the country must change, as it happened in Orhei. But some are afraid as they cannot do what the Shor Party does.
Last week, the CEC rejected the application to register the Shor Party as an electoral contender, invoking irregularities. In today’s meeting, the party was registered.
