The Swiss government offers several types of scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year, IPN learned from a press release of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
Moldovan researchers can apply for 12-month research scholarships, without the option of an extension, and for PhD studies no longer than 3 years. The scholarship won't be renewed by default every year and the recipient will have to submit an extension request that will be examined by the Federal Scholarship Commission together with the applicant's academic results. Postdoc scholarships of up to 12 months are also available. Proficiency in French, German, Italian or English, depending on the university, is mandatory.
The Swiss government doesn't provide master's studies scholarships for Moldovans in 2015-2016.
Application guidelines and forms are available only in English and can be obtained through email requests sent to chisinau@eda.admin.ch. Applicants must specify in the message the language of the studies they want to apply for.
Applications will be submitted between September 2 and November 15 this year, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, between 2 PM and 5 PM at the Swiss Cooperation Office/the representative office of the Swiss Confederation Embassy, A. Mateevici Street 23, block B, Chisinau.
The application deadline is November 15.
