The Government approved the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Health of Moldova and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation for implementing the project “Reducing the burden of noncommunicable diseases”, IPN reports.

Under the document, Switzerland will offer Moldova 4.430 million Swiss francs (1 Swiss franc is equal to 19.6 MLD) in assistance for strengthening the capacities to diagnose noncommunicable diseases and to prevent and control these, especially in rural areas.

The assistance will be provided through technical assistance projects, programs to train professionals from healthcare and information activities.

The project will be implemented by national working groups that exist or will be created, with the support of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute. The final goal of the project is to facilitate the people’s access to services of a high quality and improve the national health indicators.
