Three men aged between 30 and 40 were arrested on suspicion of considerable swindle. They identified a person suspected in a criminal case and asked from this money for helping him solve the problem. One of the suspects posed as a prosecutor of the Prosecutor General’s Office, IPN reports.

The General Police Inspectorate said the suspects planned a number of swindles so as to get gains. In the case of the man who was investigated in a criminal case, the suspect who posed as a prosecutor assured this that he has influence on the prosecutor in charge of the case who sequestrated the man’s cars. To have his cars back, he was asked to give €15,000 and was offered a cellphone that he was to use to discuss with the alleged prosecutor.

After the money was transmitted, the suspects continued to cheat the man, assuring him that the problem will be solved. Later they asked for an extra sum of €2,500.

To hide his identity, the person who posed as a prosecutor asked an acquaintance of his to meet with the man to take the envelope with money. The suspect was arrested when he received the money.

The members of the criminal group face seven to ten years in jail and ban on holding particular posts or on performing particular activities for a period of up to five years.
