Four young persons from Moldova managed to swim across the Prut River with the purpose to reach the European Union to find a job. They were caught by the border policemen in Husi, Vaslui County, near Gura Vaii village. According to the Romanian Border Police, those four, two of them aged 17 and the others 18, were arrested on Thursday at 10 am. The suspects had no IDs with them. After the arrest, those four were transported to the police office, where it was found that they are citizens of Moldova and that they crossed Prut River by swimming, carrying only several clothes and personal stuff, to find jobs in Romania. The border policemen instituted penal proceedings against them for illegally crossing the state border of Romania and informed the border authorities of Moldova. This is the third case registered in the past few days. This week, another three young men were arrested by the Police officers of Vaslui County, after they crossed the Prut River with a boat made of plastic bottles. Two weeks ago there were arrested two residents of Vadul lui Isac, Cahul, aged 15 and 17, who set off for Europe only with a map of Romania.
