Swedish parliamentary delegation on visit to Moldova

A delegation of the Swedish Parliament is paying a working visit to Moldova during May 21-23 within the parliamentary cooperation program between Sweden and Moldova. A series of seminars and training courses will be organized as part of this program in 2012, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Parliament’s press service, on May 21 the delegation had a meeting with Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici, who heads the parliamentary group of friendship with Sweden. The Swedish delegation is led by Goran Lennmarker, former chairman of the foreign relations commission of the Parliament of Sweden and ex-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
There was held a joint seminar on the development of the Parliament of Moldova as a stable and financial institution and a dialogue with mayors and representatives of the local public administration.
The delegation will also have meetings within standing commissions and parliamentary groups. A meeting of the members of the joint working group within the parliamentary cooperation program between Sweden and Moldova will be held at the end of the visit.
The objective of the parliamentary cooperation between Sweden and Moldova is to strengthen the Moldovan parliamentary democracy with the help of the Swedish Parliament. The theme of the first working visit to Chisinau, proposed by the Swedish side, is “Attitudes towards the political life”.
