Suspects in Sireti robbery arrested

The police arrested four young men aged between 21 and 25 on suspicion that they robbed a family in Sireti village of Straseni district one month ago. Two of the suspects are also investigated for murder, Info-Prime Neo reports. According to the Ministry of the Interior, being armed and masked, the four entered the house of a family and, threatening them with a pistol, stole golden jewels to the value of €130 and US$500, and a Mazda 6 car that they later abandoned nor far from the house. The damage was assessed at 120,000 lei. The suspects face up to 15 years in jail for robbery. Three of the four suspects were earlier tried for trading in drugs, theft and housebreaking. During investigations, it was established that two of them committed a murder last month. They broke into the apartment of a female pensioner in Orhei and beat her to death. Afterward, they stole 7,000 lei and ran away. The two may get up to 25 years in jail for murder, besides the punishment for robbery.
