The court kept its last week decision to prolong their preventive arrest with 30 days in a remand center in Chisinau. The suspects go on pleading not guilty. One of them, Corneliu Savca has told media general prosecutor Valeriu Gurbulea is involved in this case and he will make more statements later. The suspects were caught in March 2008 and are accused of easing the smuggling of 200 kg of heroine. The drugs were discovered in Chisinau's downtown, in sacks with beans carried by a minibus, driven by a Turkish national. Several days later, three police officers were detained. Two Turkish citizens were also arrested then. The appeal has been submitted by two officers and the Turks. The fifth suspect stated his disappointed with the Moldovan justice and did not file any appeal.
