Suspect of murder of currency exchange facility director arrested

The police arrested a man who is suspected of shooting mortally the director of a currency exchange facility situated in Falesti on December 23, 2012, IPN reports.

General Police Inspectorate head Ion Bodrug told a news conference that the police found forged documents, including permits of journalist, on the suspect. According to the investigation results, the killed man lent US$20,000 to the suspect’s female partner.

The man is also suspected of murdering another man from Chisinau, to whom he owed US$4,000.

“The suspect was identified earlier, but we followed him so as to collect evidence” said Ion Bodrug.

The man killed on December 23, 2012 was 55. He was shot dead at the entrance to the currency exchange facility located on Pietei St in Falesti. He was shot three times in the abdomen and the head.
