Suspect in murder of renowned Russian journalist arrested in Chisinau

The suspect in murder of the well-known Russian reporter, Ilya Zimin, was arrested the last night in Chisinau. According to the MAI Press Center, the last night, Chisinau police has arrested Igor Velcev, aged 22, from Cahul town, who allegedly assassinated the special correspondent of “NTV” Russian channel, Ilya Zimin. The police did not provide any other details. Zimin was found dead on 26 February 2006 in Moscow city in his own apartment, with signs of violent death having multiple head traumas.
