A man aged 29 from Dondușeni district was arrested on suspicion that he murdered a co-villager. He intended to flee the country, but was caught. His accomplice is being searched, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the 33-year-old victim was found dead in a house yard in Dondușeni on December 19. This had signs of a violent death. The medical examination later showed that the young man died as a result of maltreatment.
The police identified and arrested the suspected murderer who was hiding and then went to Chisinau and intended to leave the country. It was determined that the man acted in complicity with another man from the village aged 27. The accomplice is wanted. The two face 15 to 20 years in jail or life.
In another case, the police arrested a man suspected of the disappearance of a young man aged 35 from Hâncești district. This left the house of his friends from the same village on December 14 and went missing. The man’s mother informed the police and measures are being taken to find him, including in uninhabited houses, in wells, ponds and forests.
Contacted by IPN for details about the suspect’s statements, press officer of the Hâncești Police Inspectorate Cristina Vicol said they will provide details when they have them.
