The police arrested a man who is suspected of murdering the 20-year-old woman who was found dead in a bag on the bank of a lake in Gratiesti commune of Chisinau municipality on May 19. This is a man aged 32 who is from Cricova town, as the victim was, IPN reports.
The Chisinau Police Division said the medical examiner found signs of a violent death on the body. A thorough medical examination is to be carried out.
The suspected murderer will be held initially for 72 hours in the remand unit of the Chisinau Police Division. He is investigated for deliberate murder and faces 10 to 15 years in jail or life.
The 20-year-old woman left home eight days ago. In several days, her relatives reported that she went missing. Her body was found in a bag near the lake in Gratiesti on May 19.
Two months ago, a bag with another body was found at a waste dump in Buiucani district of Chisinau. The police arrested her ex-husband.
