60% of the respondents of a survey think the elections in Moldova are not fair. 43% of those polled consider the political parties are to blame for the fact that the elections are not fair, while 38% believe that the people allow to be manipulated. 37% of those sampled put the blame on the Government, while the others on the Central Election Commission and the inferior electoral bodies, IPN reports.

The study of the image of the Central Election Commission and the perceptions of voting, carried out by the Center “CBS-AXA”, shows that half of the Moldovans have confidence in the Commission, but the figure is lower than in 2010 due to the political interference in its activity, according to the Center.

After 2006, positive perceptions in society were identified only after the elections that led to the replacement of the power, like the local general elections of 2007, the parliamentary elections of April 2009 and the early elections of July 2009.

The poll shows that more than half of those surveyed do not know about the implementation of the electronic voting system. According to the respondents, such a system will help reduce budget costs, will allow voting wherever you are on the election day and will make voting easer. Among the risks posed by such a system, these mentioned the possibility of vote rigging and of having access to the personal data of voters and the malfunctioning of the system.

The survey was conducted by the Centre for Sociological Investigations and Marketing “CBS-AXA” on September 3-11, 2015. It covered a sample of 1,219 persons older than 18.
