Supreme Council of Magistrates to consider dismissing Victor Puscas

The Supreme Council of Magistrates next week will examine the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin’s application to discharge Victor Puscas from the post of judge of the Constitutional Court, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vladimir Voronin argued that Victor Puscas exceeded his authority when he propagated ideas in favor of the power on a private TV channel on February 26. “The judge did not honor his obligation to be impartial and exceeded his power when making different statements. He promotes propaganda to support the current government,” he stated. The issue was to be discussed in the March 27 meeting, but the members of the Council asked that they should examine it individually first. Last year, Dumitru Pulbere was dismissed from the position of president of the Constitutional Court after he made political statements for the press.
