The People’s Movement for the Customs Union supports the Party of Socialists (PSRM) in the June 14 local elections, the movement’s leader Oleg Topolnitskii said in a news conference, quoted by IPN.
Oleg Topolnitskii noted that all the opinion polls and the results of last year’s parliamentary elections show that the country’s population is leaning towards the East and the parties of the political left enjoy greater support. But these parties are many in number and they make a mistake by taking part in the elections independently as this way they fragment people’s voters for the parties of the left.
The politician stated that the PSRM already showed itself to be a serious party that promotes the country’s statehood and is against unionism and the implementation of the European values in the country. Therefore, the movement’s members decided to support this party in the local elections.
Oleg Topolnitskii said some of the movement’s members will be included on the PSRM’s list of candidates for the posts of local councilors.
