A supplementary building intended for employees of the church will be built behind the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth” situated in central Chisinau. The Chisinau Municipal Council on October 31 approved the design concept of the future building, IPN reports.
Acting mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu, when presenting the daft design, said that now the priests have to change clothes in wagon situated near the cathedral because they do not have a special place for the purpose. The annex that will be constructed will include a hall for receiving delegations.
The supplementary building will be almost 700 square meters in area and will be 6.5 meters in height. The draft decision stipulated that a fence would be erected around the building, but this provision was removed at the suggestion of Communist councilor Vasile Chirtoca.
