The Supervisory Board of the National Public Broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova” is to inform the legislative body about the expiration of the terms in office of three of its members. The issue was included in the Board’s agenda and is to be examined in a meeting on May 12.

The three members whose terms come to an end are Petru Grozavu, Larisa Calugaru and Doina Deleu, who is also the Board’s head. Contacted by IPN, Doina Deleu said that even if their terms of office expire in October, they decided to discuss the issue now so as to inform Parliament about the expiration beforehand.

According to Doina Deleu, earlier the Supervisory Board informed the legislature about the expiration of the terms of members one month beforehand and this didn’t manage to name new members on time owing to the tight agenda. This led to the blocking of the Board’s work. The procedure for appointing new members is long-lasting and thus they decided to raise the issue ahead of time.

A member of the Supervisory Board serves a term of four years.
