Ludmila Vasilache was elected as chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the National Public Broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova” on March 14. She was voted in by the votes of four of the seven members of the Supervisory Board attending. Candidate Doina Deleu won only two votes, IPN reports.

Ludmila Vasilache said the new composition of the Supervisory Board aims to unblock the situation created at “Teleradio-Moldova”. “We will hold meetings as often as necessary as must also chose the president of the company. The task of the Supervisory Board is not only to represent “Teleradio-Moldova”, but also to monitor the company’s work. We are responsible for what is going on here,” she stated.

Ludmila Vasilache has worked in the field of journalism for 16 years. She was a member of the Broadcasting Coordination Council, while before this she worked at the National Public Broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova”.

The Supervisory Board is the autonomous administrative body of “Teleradio-Moldova”. Its work has been blocked since the end of 2013, when the tenure of six of the nine members expired. Recently, Parliament named four new members. These are: Ludmila Vasilache, Vitalie Tapes, Stela Nistor, and Lilia Gurez.
