The United States congratulates the people of Moldova for conducting a transparent and impartial parliamentary election, which international observers judged to be in general accordance with accepted international standards for free and fair elections. In a press release quoted by Info-Prim Neo, the U.S. Embassy says Sunday's vote represents another significant step forward on Moldova's democratic path. What is important now is that Moldova's political leaders work together to form a new government and elect a president in order to tackle the challenges ahead. The Embassy also says that the United States strongly supports the aspirations of the citizens of Moldova to build a democratic, prosperous European state, secure within its internationally recognized boundaries. “We look forward to working with Moldova's new government as it accelerates important reforms to consolidate democracy, improve the economy, and strengthen the rule of law,” it is said in the communique.
