Summertime Holidays will rock Chisinau’s central square on weekend

Two open-air concerts organised by the Romanian channels National TV and Favorit TV as part of the “Carava Sarbatorilor de Vara” (“The Caravan of Summertime Holidays”) will take place on Saturday and Sunday in the Great National Assembly Square in downtown Chisinau. Mihai Mos, director general of the Romanian concern National Media, told today a news conference that the Saturday’s concert, presented by the hosts of the morning show on National TV, Razvan and Dani, will feature the band “Sistem”, Mihai Margineanu, Ana Lesko, the bands “Heaven”, “Studio One” and “Molnar Band” (last year’s winner of the “Fresh Star” Song Contest). Sunday, starting at 1:30 pm, National TV will broadcast live from Chisinau a special edition of the show “Remember this Sunday”, hosted by Corina Chiriac, who will have as guests the Mayor of Chisinau, Dorin Chirtoaca, the bands “Millennium” and “Edict”, and folk music singers. In the evening, an open-air folk music concert starring the band Lautarii and its lead Nicolae Botgros will start at 6:00 pm in the central square. Deputy Mayor of Chisinau City Ana Lucia Culev told reporters that such events are very important for the capital as they promote true values, unlike the Wine Festival, whose celebration in a difficult period for the winemakers arouses puzzlement to say the least. The annual Caravan of Summertime Holidays, organised by the Romanian concern National Media in concert with the European Drinks Company, has been touring Romanian cities and Moldova’s capital since 2005. This year, after visiting Chisinau, the Caravan will end in Bucharest on October 5.
