The summer season at the Summer Theatre in “Valea Morilor” Park of Chisinau begins on May 19 with a concert dedicated to the late singer Ion Aldea-Teodorovici, who would have turned 70 this year. The deputy mayor of Chisinau Ilie Ceban said that the opening of the theater will take place simultaneously with the completion of the second stage of renovation works, IPN reports.
The second stage of refurbishment works at the Summer Theatre includes repairing the façade of the building and the roof of the stage, painting the seats, laying out the central entrance to the theatre and repairing the access stairs. To ensure access for people with reduced mobility, ramps are being installed. A modular toilet is being set up. The municipality also decided to place an exhibition pavilion where butterflies will be bred.
The deputy mayor said that the municipality wants to transform the area into an attractive one for citizens, with high quality standards. Also, appropriate conditions will be created for those who will take the stage. All the changing rooms are in the process of rehabilitation.
“We want there to be more and more recreational areas of this kind and opportunities for residents to spend their free time on weekends. The goal is to every weekend have a rich cultural program,” stated Ilie Ceban.
The concert “My longing was wandering”, dedicated to the late Ion Aldea-Teodorovici, will start at 06:00 p.m.
