A group of young Germans will get acquainted with the realities of our country, as well as with those of our neighbors from Ukrainian Bucovina, during the Moldovan-German summer school, which will operate between August 22 and September 12, 2021, in Chișinău and Chernivtsi, according to a Leipzig Institute of Moldova (MIL) press release.
The Faculty of History and Philosophy from the State University of Moldova (USM) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) are participating in the organization of the summer school, which is now in its 12th edition.
Students and doctoral students from various universities - from Berlin, Jena, Göttingen, Heidelberg, Leipzig, Mainz University, Munich, Münster and other centers of higher education- are expected to come to Moldova. They will benefit from an intensive Romanian language course (4 hours per day): as an introduction to Romanian for novices and an improvement course for those who are already familiar with the language.
This year's training theme is "Identity discourses in multicultural spaces: the Republic of Moldova and Bucovina". The program foresees that students will have meetings with representatives of the state, of the civil society, of the media, of pre-university and university institutions and representatives of various ethnic groups. The program aims to familiarize the participants with the Moldovan socio-political situation. Additionally, the participants will get acquainted with the identity, the historical and educational aspects of different multicultural areas.
