As many as 19,000 children from Chisinau will be able to rest in the summer camps managed or contracted by the municipal administration for 10-12 days.
Contacted by IPN, Valentina Cujba, deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, said the municipality manages three camps - Alunelul, Ciresarii, and Poienira Vesela. The five camps contracted to provide services are: Zambet, Perlele Nistrului, and Camping that are situated in Vadul lui Voda, Andries in Ivancea, and La Popas in Cocieri.
The price of a ticket is 1,290-1,300 lei. The parents pay only 20% of the price. The rest of the sum is paid from the municipal budget. A child can go to a camp only one time during summer so that all the children are able to rest in such camps.
The children with disabilities do not have to pay for tickets. This year, there are two day summer camps where the disabled children will be able to rest. Twenty children with special educational needs accompanied by persons looking after them will be included in Alunelul camp for the period of summer.
The summer camps started work on June 3 and will close on August 28.
