The summaries of European Court of Human Rights decisions pronounced in the cases where Moldova figures as the accused party, will be published in the “Official Monitor”. Parliament has passed today a draft law in this regard, introducing some amendments to the Law on Publishing Legal Acts. According to Nicolae Esanu, deputy minister of Justice, the project has been worked out having the purpose to solve all the existing misunderstanding and incoherence in the legislation referring to publishing ECHR decisions against Moldova. Esanu said that that the publication of these materials will be of great importance to solving problems related to human rights in Moldova. For his part, chairman of the Parliamentary Legal Committee for Appointments and Immunities, Vladimir Turcan, said that these amendments ensure a free access of the citizens to ECHR documents, at the same time serving as an answerable mechanism for implementation of the law. Up to this date the Government of Moldova was accused for violating human rights in more than 50 cases, being compelled to pay the plaintiffs more than EUR 700 thousand.
