Sufficient food supply help carabineers fight better

Since the beginning of the year, “1001” Military Unit of the Carabineer Troops Department has registered better results, fact also due to a higher level of equipping and food supply of the troops. Unit commander Trofim Balan made this statement at the 14-th anniversary of the unit. According to him, this year, unit’s carabineers made about 17,300 administrative arrests and approximately 677 penal arrests, contributing to crimes’ discovery. 1001 Military Unit is trained in order to maintain public order in Chisinau municipality, to protect the major importance objects in republic, as well as the diplomatic mission with headquarters in Chisinau. Internal deputy minister Ion Cozma stated at the same event that the military units of the carabineer troops are an important support for police patrols and their stations in order to maintain public order. At present the 1001 Military Unit has about 1,000 militaries.
