The subject of the second censure motion is a delicate and sensitive one. There must be a consensus between the opposition and the government as regards the country’s reunification. The fact that the PCRM chose the Transnistrian issue as an instrument of attack can produce negative reactions, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said in the program “Replica” on the public TV channel “Prime”, IPN reports.

“I do not hide that the first censure motion caused certain controversy in society and we should have probably discussed the issue in detail in Parliament. As to the second motion, I deeply regret that the Communist MPs chose this way,” stated Iurie Leanca. According to him, Communists’ acts show once again that the Communist ideology is a thing of the past that has nothing to do with the wish of society and the government to build a European country.

The president of the Foreign Policy Association Vasile Nedelciuc said he approves of the work of the current Government and supports it because there is no other authentic political force that would take over and would maintain Moldova’s European course. The Leanca Government deserves only praise for the foreign relations established by Moldova, especially with the EU. But, as regards the internal policy, there is stagnation.

As to the subject of the second censure motion – the Transnistrian conflict and the setting up of migration points on the administrative line between the two banks of the Nistru River - Vasile Nedelciuc said the Communist MPs play an electoral game and they should remember what they did to settle this dispute when they were in power.

“Our parliamentary opposition does not have a high level of intelligence and political culture,” said political commentator Mihai Chernenko. According to him, the Leanca Government in four months of work achieved positive results, but the real result will be obtained at the Vilnisu EaP Summit.

On October 10, the Communist lawmakers put forward a censure motion against the Government headed by Iurie Leanca, accusing it of corruption and dispossession of the state of important facilities. The motion didn’t yet garner the necessary number of votes to be passed. The day the motion was rejected, the Communists tabled a new motion, this time on the Transnistrian conflict. It will be examined in the October 22 sitting of Parliament.
