The Romanian Government will provide places to study for the masters’ or doctor’s degree to Moldovan university graduates only after the Moldova diplomas are recognized at European level, said Minister of Education Maia Sandu, making deference to a discussion with her Romanian counterpart Remus Pricopie.

The representatives of the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport of Romania said that until Moldova does not have an institution recognized at European level, which would deal with the working out of programs and would ensure the quality of higher education, the quality of studies in the country is in question.

The Government of Romania offers scholarships to study for the masters’ or doctor’s degree only to Moldovans who got a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Romania. In 2013, 550 Moldovans received scholarships to study for the master’s degree at a university in Romania, while 125 places were offered for doctoral studies.
