Students will represent 20% of university senates

Students will be represented in university senates, faculty councils and boards of education institutions by at last 20% of members. This amendment to art.46 of the Education Law was approved this week by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports. Until now, the regulation stipulated a maximum representation rate of 25%, but didn’t specify a minimum rate. Thus the Law was often treated as a mere formality. That’s why an amendment including a minimum obligatory rate of 20% was adopted. The amendment was proposed by deputy Marian Lupu as a legislative initiative.
