The eighth-ninth graders from eight pre-university education institutions of Moldova will learn about consumer rights protection. Maria Bazgu, division head at the Ministry of Economy and Trade, has told Info-Prim Neo that the subject was included in the timetable on a trial basis.
“The selected schools are situated in settlements that are in the immediate vicinity of the municipality of Chisinau so that the employees of our and other divisions dealing with the infrastructure of quality could provide methodological consultations at seminars and conferences organized by us,” Maria Bazgu said.
She stated that the division has worked out a glossary of different terms regarding the compliance and inoffensiveness of the products for students. A “Consumer Protection” guidebook was prepared for the teachers that will be chosen to teach the course at the first stage.
“We are sure that the subject will be popular with the students, teachers and parents. There will be worked out new materials. The consumers’ opinion plays a special role in improving the quality and competitiveness of the national products and services, so the state wants the consumers to be elevated,” Bazgu said.
