The primary school pupils do not need to present the student’s permit when they travel by public transport based on season tickets issued free by the municipality. The General Public Transport and Communications Division issued a relevant circular to the Urban Bus Company and the Electric Transport Company, which, for their part, are to inform ticket collectors not to ask the permit from travelling students.
Contacted by IPN for details, the deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Andrei Pavaloi said that information about the student, including the holder’s photo, is available on the season ticket. This also contains the stamp of the educational institution that is attended by the student. Therefore, there is no need to ask for a student’s permit or another confirming document.
Free season tickets are also provided to Ukrainian refugees who were admitted to educational institutions in Chisinau and to those who have the status of unattached student.
If the Ukrainian children do not study at an educational institution in Chisinau but travel to extracurricular activities at municipal institutions, they can ask for a season ticket from the administration. Andrei Pavaloi said no such situations have been reported so far, but solutions will be identified if there are such cases.
The first-fourth graders benefit from free season tickets to travel by bus and trolleybus in the municipality of Chisinau. These can be asked from the educational institution where the children study.
