Starting with 2013, the high school students will take a written and oral Romanian language and literature exam. The announcement was made by Minister of Education Mihail Shleahtitski in the national workshop on Romanian language and literature “Communication. Interpretation. Teaching performance”, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Education, Mihail Shleahtitski said the change of the conception and methodology is needed so as to additionally motivate the students to improve their skills of speaking correctly, coherently, expressively and convincingly in the Romanian language. “Together with the written exam, we will institute the oral exam to assess the communication skills. We will start with the Romanian language and literature in the secondary school graduation exam and in the Baccalaureate exam, in the session of 2013. Until then, we are to thoroughly prepare the examination procedure, which must be authentic and objective,” said the minister. An experiment will be conducted this year during the National Romanian Language and Literature Olympiad, where ninth and tenth graders will be tested in verbal competitiveness, correctness, coherence, expressivity and persuasion.
