Students formed long queues at the College of Medicine and Pharmaceutics in Chisinau. Admission Commission secretary Tatiana Critskaya has told Info-Prim Neo that those who besieged the college are mainly students who finished the ninth grade as not all those who finished the eleventh grade and those who took the Baccalaureate exams have yet received the diplomas. The College of Medicine and Pharmaceutics this year provides 330 budget-funded places at all specialties and 144 places on a contract basis. The admission results will be made public on August 4. If not all the places are filled, a second admission round will be held. The students are admitted to college on the basis of the general average grade in the diploma. The applicants who want to become dental technicians will also take a practical test. The specialty of dental technician is the most expensive one. The tuition fees amount to almost 10 000 lei. The tuition for general medicine is the lowest - 6 700 lei. Applications to colleges can be submitted until July 31, while to secondary vocational schools until August 26. The students must present the diploma in the original and a Xerox, four color photographs, a Xerox of the identity card, the medical certificate and the certificate about the composition of the family for those who want a place in the dorm. The invalid applicants must also submit the copies of the documents confirming their disability. According to the Ministry of Education, there are about 50 colleges and over 60 secondary vocational schools in Moldova.
