Fifth-twelfth graders speaking Romanian and Russian are invited to take part in the national creation contest “Letter to the mother” that is staged by the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau, IPN reports.
The letters, in electronic form, should be submitted to the email address scrisoaremamei@gmail.com (Romanian) and pismomame2015@gmail.com (Russian) by February 25, 2018.
According to the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, the goal of the contest is to sensitize the young generation, to promote creativity, to identify and promote young talents. The contest will draw attention to the existing realities and will motivate the young people to respect their parents and will cultivate social human values.
“There are now many methods of communication between children and parents who are far away, such as the social networking sites, like skype, twitter, odnoklassniki, and Facebook. Their discussions through these technologies are often reduced to financial problems. The letter is the most successful instrument for motivating children to open up and to use their imagination. It is important to see what a child thinks and feels,” it is said in a press release of the Division.
The best three letters in each category will be awarded. The winners will get money awards of 2,000 lei (first place), 1,500 lei (second place) and 1,000 lei (third place). There will also be offered five money awards of 500 lei each. The award ceremony will be held in Chisinau. The exact place, date and hour of the festivity will be made public beforehand.
The contest is organized in partnership with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the Languages Faculty of the State University of Moldova and the public association “Platforma Socrate”.
