Extinguishing a fire and other activities to be carried out in emergency situations were simulated by students from Sipoteni, Călărași district. The exercise was organized and coordinated by AO EcoContact, General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and Sipoteni City Hall, IPN reports.
According to Tatianei Cociaș, a communications consultant at AO EcoContact, the exercise was based on a training scenario for high school students, as well as the residents of the settlement. They have been taught to use a fire extinguisher, to provide first aid and to conduct other activities required immediately after the fire alarm is triggered.
Tatiana Cociaș also mentioned that during the training exercises students learned about the role of the volunteer and professional rescuers, as well as the need for collaboration between them in the case of an emergency situation.
Both practical and theoretical activities were carried out under the strict supervision of experienced instructors of the Rescuers and Firefighters post in the area, employees of Nisporeni and Călărași Service for Emergency Situations and teachers.
The event took place under ProVoice project - Promoting the role of volunteers and the population in the civil protection, implemented with the financial support of the European Union and the Austrian Agency for Development.
