Students caught smuggling cigarettes among cherries and chocolate boxes

Customs officers found 780 packs of cigarettes hidden in different parts of a VW Cady car at the Leuseni-Albita customs post. Another 20 packs were discovered in a bag with biscuits. According to a communiqué from the Customs Service, quoted by Info-Prim Neo, the vehicle with Ukrainian license number was driven by a citizen of Ukraine. The car was going out of Moldova. The cigarettes were seized and the driver fined for cigarette smuggling. Another cigarette smuggling case was identified in a car of the Chisinau-Bucharest train, at the customs post Ungheni-Cristesti. Two Moldovans studying in Iasi hid over 300 packs of cigarettes among bags with cherries and boxes of chocolate. The contraband was confiscated.
