The high school and vocational school graduates will be able to apply for several universities simultaneously. Each institution separately will decide whether to allow the candidates to apply for one specialty or several specialties. Acting Minister of Education Maia Sandu told a news conference that these changes are aimed at offering the young people more chances, IPN reports.
The candidates will present the original documents and their copies to the admission commission, which will confirm that they saw the original, but will keep only the copies. Those who intend to apply only to one institution can file the documents in the original.
The applications will be submitted between July 16 and 27 and the preliminary results will be known by July 31. The candidates admitted to several institutions will have to make a choice and to lodge the documents to the chosen institution in the original by August 3.
The discriminatory ban on the Moldovans from abroad to apply for budget-funded places was removed. The universities will also have the right to redistribute the places for foreigners in accordance with the bilateral agreements.
90% of the total places in universities are intended for holders of Baccalaureate diplomas, while 10% for holders of vocational education diplomas.
