More than 750 students and young doctors from 13 countries gathered together at the seventh International Medical Congress “MedEspera” in Chisinau on May 3. During three days, these will present scientific works about the most topical medicine and pharmacy subjects and will take part in workshops where they will present their scientific accomplishments and could establish friendship and cooperation relations, IPN reports.
According to the rector of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu” Ion Ababii, the congress “MedEspera”, owing to the intellectual potential and values it promotes, is a notable event both for the university he heads and for the whole national medical community. The young scientists have always represented a valuable intellectual potential of the nation. These are the force that can generate and implement the boldest ideas and projects. “This way our aspirations to integrate into the common European training and research area will materialize,” stated the rector.
Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Svetlana Cebotari said “MedEspera” is important to students and young doctors as this event brings together people who are preoccupied about the future of medicine. The university should become involved in the exchange of experience between young researchers from the country and abroad, which would lead to the recognition of the most recent accomplishments and practices in the field. “I think the cooperation between universities and health research institutions is essential as it can produce high-quality projects, transfer of expertise, innovation and creativity to the country,” noted the minister.
The International Medical Congress “MedEspera” is organized by the Association of Students and Residents of Moldova and is held at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu”. The event involves students and young doctors from Italy, Germany, Georgia, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, Congo, Israel, France and Cyprus.
