A 16-year-old student of the Municipal Sports Lyceum of Chisinau was admitted to the hospital after he was beaten by his coach, as he asserted. Nicolae Starciuc, director of the Chisinau Children’s Hospital “Valentin Ignatenko”, has told IPN that the teen suffered a concussion and will remain in the hospital for several days.
Contacted by IPN, the lyceum’s principal Maria Gabuja said the coach explained that the case happened last weekend, but the student went to the hospital on September 16. According to his explanations, during a training session the student was removed from the game. In reaction, he behaved indecently and insulted the coach. The coach admitted that he slapped the student once.
Maria Gabuja also said that the teacher has worked at the lyceum for 12 years. Nobody complained about his performance in the period. At the same time, the teen is a good student and has good behavior.
The principal ordered creating an internal commission of inquiry. During three days, it will analyze the situation and will take a decision.
